Frequently Asked Questions
What happens on a discover call ~
This call is for approx 20 mins, the first opportunity to have an informal chat with me, you can ask me any queries that you may have. I may ask you a few questions to discover the type of therapy you are looking for at this time and if I feel that I am able to help.
You may then decide that you would like to make an appointment to meet me either face to face, or would prefer a remote session, we can take this time to look at our diaries.
I will talk to you about some paperwork that I may send to you to complete before we meet for our first session.
After your first session, if you decide I am not the right therapist for you, you do not need to make a second appointment.
Making an Appointment ~
Please contact me by either phone, email or message via the website. If you leave a message, I have a confidential voice mail and dedicated business number. I will respond to you as soon as possible.
If possible include in your message, your name and how I can contact you with brief details of what therapy you are possibly looking to book.
Once we have made contact with each other, we will go from there.
If I feel that I do not have the necessary skills or modality to support you with your particular issue or I do not have the availability you require. I may be able to offer to refer you to another therapist or service
The First Counselling or Psychotherapy Session ~
Attending your first session can make you feel incredibly anxious, fearful, or maybe even overwhelmed.
I would like to try to reassure you that I hope that once you have made the often brave decision to engage in therapy I will guide you through the process. This first session is mainly information gathering and we have some important pieces of paperwork to complete, which we can go through together, so you can ask any questions as we go along.
The main focus is what has brought you to seek my help and what would you like and hope to achieve from our sessions together. I will explain a little about how I work and what you can expect from me.
Whatever time is remaining of the session can be used to start your therapy. This is a chance for you to explore if you would like to continue to work with me, you do not need to make a second appointment if you feel I am not the therapist for you.
EDT, Mind Your Mind, Therapeutic Shamanism and Reiki Sessions ~
We will explore on our discovery call, how I am able to facilitate these therapies. I will then send you out some paperwork for you to complete prior to your first session.
I am able to offer walk and talk, nature therapy in South Devon. You are invited to join me outside of the therapy room where I use the natural environment as part of our work together. Studies show that time spent outdoors surrounded by nature can benefit our well-being.
